Fit to be a Mama

As many of you well know, I've been trying to keep up somewhat of an exercise routine during my pregnancy. My contribution to the Graco Corporate Blog this week is about just that. Give it a read!

Secrets...Secrets...Are No Fun!!!

So just a quick update, Heidi is now nearing the end of her 13th week of pregnancy, and she is looking amazing and Itsy Bitsy is growing...We had a doctor's visit last week and we had a great time watching the baby move around and hearing the heartbeat.

Now to get back to the theme of this post...I am definitely not one for secrets especially the ones that I have to keep from people, so keeping Heidi's pregnancy was not a fun chore for this guy...

One of the most challenging ventures was when Heidi and I strolled down to Gruene Hall with our friends, Matt and Shelley for a Reckless Kelly concert. We were also meeting up with Heidi's lifelong friend, Melissa and her husband.

Heidi and I are known to frequent a few Texas Music concerts during the year, and with that comes the consumption of a few German Soda Waters...BEERS! Well, Heidi knew that she was pregnant, so she would not be partaking in any adult beverages. The fun part was to not make the reason blatantly obvious to our friends. There was first a virgin vodka and club (club soda and lime), then the offering to be the designated driver, and finally her totting around an O'Douls bottle.

There were probably little bitty suspicions leading up to our announcement, but I for one was so glad to get that secret off my chest...This is one secret that didn't hurt anyone!!! Love you all!

I'm a Blogger X2

I am now not only a blogger on Itsy Bitsy Parker, but also on Graco's Corporate Blog. Today my official news of expecting IBP in January was released (only a few people at work knew up until now) as my first blog post on Graco's Heart to Heart Blog. For 3 years now, I've worked on the marketing team at Graco and have gained a lot of knowledge about the industry, but I now know, as a First Time Expectant, I know a lot about baby gear (ask me if you're car seat is installed correctly), but there is so much more to learn. I look forward to sharing my journey!

As you know we released the news of the upcoming arrival of IBP last Friday. What an amazing day it was! I cannot tell you what an awesome feeling it was to receive so many blog comments, emails, voicemail, and text messages from such an amazing network of friends and family!

I happened to be in a car seat safety workshop all day at Dell Children's Hospital (kinda ironic, huh?) and couldn't answer my phone, but was so thrilled to read the the continuous outpour of love, support and congratulations from all of you. Needless to say, by the time 5:30 pm rolled around, my phone was dead!

So, thanks for being such great friends to JP and me and we look forward to sharing more exciting news as the arrival of IBP grows nearer! In the meantime, keep us all in your prayers that we continue to stay healthy!

...You Guessed It!

That's right! We are expecting a little Parker...

My first official doctor's appointment was Monday (6/16) and we found out that I was a little over 8 weeks along. That makes me due January 25...yes, Laci, I'm going to be a very large bridesmaid on January 2nd!

We are absolutely thrilled and so glad to finally share our exciting news with all of you! By the time I finally send this out, I will be about 10 weeks along (out of 40 for those of you who might not know...he he he!)

So, I've been wanting to start a blog for a while now and this is the perfect excuse! Join us!

And, for those of you who might have had an inkling (or even asked me if I was preggers)--I apologize for telling a little fib--just wanted to wait until I felt like it was the right time. AND NOW YOU KNOW!
